Positioned close to the inland tourist route of Highway 72, a stay at Mount Hutt Lodge enables you to explore the range of high country treats the South Island of New Zealand is famous for. This can include jet boating, salmon fishing in the pristine Rakaia River or fishing for trout in the high country lakes.

There are numerous walks and hikes that can take anything from 30 minutes to 3 days to complete - the choice is yours. During the winter Mount Hutt Lodge is superbly placed to let you try your hand at skiing at the wide range of different ski fields - from Mount Hutt itself to Craigieburn to the north or the Tekapo Basin to the south.

Mount Hutt Lodge offers guests access to 4 self service one bedroom apartments that sleep up to 4 people. You can also enjoy the freshest local produced presented by award winning chef Ernest Stern and his wife Jo at the "A View" licenced resturant. The resort has bicycles and an in-ground pool available on site for guests to use. There is also access to a choice of local jet boat operators that can take you out on the Rakaia River to either chase the salmon or to have a thrilling ride on the river.
